Jennifer Hinderscheid, Assistant Department Head – Vice President, Corporate Actions & Non Fiduciary Securities Lending Services, Brown Brothers Harriman
How long have you been active with ISITC?
I’ve been active going on eight years.
What boards, working groups, etc. do you / have you participated in at ISITC?
I am currently one of the Co-Chairs of the Securities Lending Working Group. In addition, I have also participated in the Corporate Actions and Settlements Working Groups.
What do you consider to be the top benefits of being active in ISITC?
First and foremost is the collaboration. From a collaborative perspective, one working group could be working on an initiative that requires input from one or more other working groups. These working groups come together to discuss and help create paths forward.
The second benefit is the opportunity to network. ISITC does a fantastic job of creating space and opportunity outside of the annual summit and other forums for individuals to meet and engage.
What is your role at Brown Brothers Harriman?
I am currently a Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
What do you find most exciting with your current focus at Brown Brothers Harriman?
I find the autonomy of my role to be the most exciting. When I came over to Brown Brothers, it was to build a product, which is underway. I’ve also recently taken on more responsibilities in my role, which includes new teams. Learning what those teams do and how to integrate them into my larger model is also particularly exciting.
What’s the most impactful career advice you received?
To always listen, but to stand firm in my abilities and beliefs. This advice was particularly impactful in my roles at my prior firm and the professional growth I experienced there.
Do you have a personal philosophy by which you live your life?
You miss 100% of the chances you don’t take in life. I live this everyday and have only been fortunate because of it.
