During its 25 years of service, the association has provided its members with the means to influence the securities transaction process through the development of standards and practical applications for new technologies. This year’s conference theme, “New Kids on the Block: Linking the Past to the Future of Financial Services,” will continue this tradition by focusing on the ground-breaking technology that occupies the financial sector today. To complement this theme, the conference will feature sessions on emerging trends and issues including blockchain technology, cybersecurity and data management, among others.

Mr. Vigna and Mr. Casey, who co-authored “The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and Digital Money are Challenging the Global Economic Order,” will deliver the keynote address around the ramifications and overall impact of blockchain technology, and how it has shifted the discourse in financial services today. The keynotes will also focus on the opportunities and issues institutions will face as they merge blockchain technology within their existing infrastructure.

“A new wave of innovation and technology promises radical change across the financial services industry,” comments Jeff Zoller, Chair of ISITC and Vice President at T. Rowe Price. “At this year’s conference, ISITC will focus on how emerging technologies can provide significant opportunities for financial institutions who are nimble and willing to embrace change. We are excited to have Paul and Michael as this year’s keynote speakers and look forward to hearing their insights on technological disruption.”
