Former ISITC board member and veteran of the financial services industry recognized for being advocate and contributor to the association
BOSTON – March 13, 2018 – ISITC (The International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication) today announced that Steve Goswell, ISITC member and former Chair and board member, will be recognized with the ISITC Standard of Excellence Award at ISITC’s 24th Annual Securities Operations Summit on March 19th.
The Standard of Excellence Award recognizes individuals who have both made a significant contribution to the industry and rendered exceptional service to ISITC, which is supported through the voluntary services of industry professionals. Goswell was selected as the recipient of this annual award due to his continued commitment and work for the organization he helped advance.
Under Goswell’s leadership as ISITC Chair from 2006-2007, the term of the Chair was officially changed from one to two years, providing stability and continuity and allowing the Chair to take a more strategic approach to managing the association and shaping ISITC’s leadership role in the world of financial industry standards. Goswell also led the charge to enter ISITC into the Standards Coordination Group (SCG), which is made up of ISITC, FIX, FpML, SWIFT, FISD, and XBRL, and works to develop an investment roadmap that defined a common underlying financial model and interoperability of messaging standards while committing to the ISO 20022 business model.
In addition to his role as ISITC Chair, Mr. Goswell has been an active ISITC participant since 1998 and served on the ISITC board from 2002-2014. He currently serves as Vice President of Bank of the West.
“We’re delighted to recognize Steve’s accomplishments and efforts that have contributed to ISITC’s success,” says Erica Borghi, ISITC Chair and Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. “ISITC has become a leading voice of the U.S. securities industry at the global standards table, and Steve was an integral part of that.”
The Standard of Excellence award recipient is chosen annually by a committee of select ISITC board members, led by Jan E. Snitzer, past chair.
