How long have you been active with ISITC?
I have been active with ISITC for more than 20 years, at both DTCC and JPMorgan.
What boards, working groups, etc. do you / have you participated in at ISITC?
I participate in the Corporate Actions Working Group.
What do you consider to be the top benefits of being active in ISITC?
There are several benefits of being active in ISITC. First, from a career perspective, ISITC is a great place to network with peers across the securities industry to solve common issues confronting each of us. These relationships have been rewarding on both a professional and personal level. Second, ISITC conferences and webinars provide members with the opportunity to learn about key industry topics that you may not have time to dig into over the course of busy workdays. I have learned so much over the years! Lastly, the ISITC working groups are helpful forums for collective, dedicated groups to discuss specific industry problems, develop market practice and ultimately advance automation and solutions.
What is your role at DTCC?
I am a product manager at DTCC responsible for Corporate Action ISO20022 Messaging. This includes responsibility for all Announcement, Entitlement, and Instruction messages to DTC participants. I am also responsible for the development of our AnnounceDirect product. Subject to regulatory review, this new product will automate the delivery of Agent Corporate Action announcements into DTC, providing Agents with a refreshed interface, IS020022 inbound capabilities and the ability to access timely and accurate data.
What do you find most exciting with your current focus at DTCC?
Currently, one of the most exciting things I am working on is the AnnounceDirect product. When the service is launched, DTCC will be taking a leading role in facilitating a new modernized workflow from Agent to end investor, driving automation across the U.S. market. I also really enjoy working across the industry with so many interesting market participant firms.
What’s the most impactful career advice you received?
Stay focused on and make a concerted effort to advance your learning. And, always learn more than what is asked of you.
Do you have a personal philosophy by which you live your life?
I am a believer in work hard, play hard. I am also a believer in the collective benefits of working as a team – everyone counts.
