How long have you been active with ISITC?

I’ve been active with ISITC since 2007 and immediately became involved working on ISO 20022. I currently serve as a co-chair for the Corporate Actions Working group.

What do you consider to be the top benefits of being active in ISITC?

The opportunities to collaborate and network with influential thought leaders and market practitioners throughout the financial services community. The opportunities to engage with operations professionals to discuss industry pain points and solicit solutions to improve STP and mitigate operational risks. The opportunities to actively define and develop market practice guidelines to increase standardization of the securities services industry.

What is your role at Fidelity?

I focus on developing and executing data strategy and setting priorities for product and operations initiatives to deliver value to a number of internal business groups. I also lead business analysis and requirements and ensure operations readiness for regulatory changes (e.g. T+1) that are impacting corporate actions processing. I also provide subject matter expertise on industry and SWIFT standards for corporate actions across Fidelity.

What do you find most exciting with your current focus?

It’s exciting to lead efforts that provide me with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the company and across different geographical regions. Engaging with other business areas only deepens my knowledge of the products and services available to our customers.

What’s the most impactful career advice you received?

Establish a professional relationship with a mentor. Having a mentor at a leadership level who can advocate and broadcast your accomplishments is paramount for career mobility and growth.

Do you have a personal philosophy by which you live your life?

Every day is a school day. I am a believer that learning never stops. This is even more relevant as there is always something new to learn in the digital world we live in.
