Gary Probert

Advisor to the Board

Gary Probert was Managing Director at Citi within the Direct Custody and Clearing team. As the Global Head for Execution to Custody (E2C), Gary brought over 20 years of industry experience with him and is responsible for developing solutions that links Citi Markets Trading execution capabilities with Citi’s Custodian network and client outsourcing services.

Prior to this role, he was the Global Processing Head of Clearance and Settlement for Citigroup Global Markets Inc. from 2007 to 2009. Having joined Citi in 2000, Gary was initially responsible for the creation of the Equity Middle Office which he managed for the next 8 years. In this role, supporting all regional Equity Trading desks, he and his teams implemented a robust global STP environment that culminated in a large percentage of transaction automation as well as the consolidation of different operating groups into core processing areas.

Before joining Citi, Gary was responsible for International Operations at Fidelity Investments where he focused on increasing internal and external STP rates and managing broker’s operational performance globally.

Beginning his career in Unit Trust sales in London, he then moved to the U.S. where he became a Country Coordinator in International Custody at the Bank of Boston.

Gary has been involved in numerous Industry initiatives and is currently an advisor to the board of “The International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication (ISITC)”. Gary was also also co-Chair of Omgeo’s Americas Advisory board.  In addition, Gary is Series 27 registered and served as CGMI’s Financial & Operations Principal, responsible for supervising the preparation of Citigroup’s Broker Dealer financial reports that are filed with FINRA and the SEC.

Gary holds a B.S, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University.
