Andrea Mahar is a senior financial services executive with more than 18 years of experience leading global operations, strategic transformation, regulatory oversight, and risk management across the securities industry. She currently serves as Co-Head of Securities & CAIP Americas at UBS, where she is responsible for driving strategic growth, operational excellence, technology modernization, and industry engagement across the securities and capital markets landscape. In this role, she partners across businesses and functions to deliver innovative client solutions, strengthen operational resilience, and advance the firm’s strategic priorities throughout the Americas.
Prior to her current role, Andrea served as Head of Investment Bank Americas Securities Operations at UBS, where she led initiatives focused on operational excellence, automation, regulatory change, and the modernization of securities processing and settlement capabilities across the region. Before joining UBS, she held several senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse, including Global Head of Equity Operations, Client Solutions & Middle Office; Executive Director of Securities Operations Change; and Head of Securities Operations for DTCC, Canada, and Latin America.
Throughout her career, Andrea has successfully led complex transformation programs, regulatory initiatives, and operational risk management enhancements while building and mentoring high-performing, globally distributed teams. She is recognized for her ability to connect strategy with execution, driving meaningful business outcomes through collaboration, innovation, strong governance, and talent development.
A respected industry leader, Andrea has represented major financial institutions in market forums and working groups, serving as a leading voice in settlement modernization and the industry’s transition to T+1 settlement. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of ISITC, she is Co-Chair of the DTCC Americas ITP Advisory Council and actively participates in multiple industry advisory and governance bodies, helping shape best practices and the future of securities clearing, settlement, and post-trade operations.
Andrea is a FINRA Financial and Operations Principal (Series 27) and a certified Professional Agile Leader.
