Virtual Winter Forum

In place of the ISITC Winter Forum this year, ISITC will be hosting a virtual meeting, similar to ISITC Week in the fall. It will take place from Monday, December 7 to Wednesday, December 9 from 10:00/10:30 am to middle of the afternoon daily. There will be multiple Working Group or Forum sessions each day and one General Session, with the exception of the last day which will include the Annual Business Meeting instead.

The European Commission has followed the recommendation from ESMA to postpone the settlement discipline part of CSDR by one year. The European council and the European parliament have still a little bit more than 2 months to raise any objection to this new launch date of 1st of February 2022. As we know that this extra year should allow the market participants and the CSD to finalize their implementation in due time as they have been compromised following the outburst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this discussion between an investment manager and two CSDs will show us if indeed, the extra 12 months can be fully dedicated to finalization of the implementation, or if they are still some basics questions that need to be addressed on some processes such as the buy-in procedures.
